Q. Are there any legal needs to marry in Australia?
A. Australian Law lists the following as mandatory for your marriage to be legal in this Country:
Legal Age:
The Minimum legal age is 18 years. One party may be less than 18 years, but you require the Court's approval.
Notice of Intended Marriage:
The first step is to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage, which must be in my hands a minimum of one month and one day prior to your wedding day. The form lists the authorised people who may witness your signatures, including myself. You may complete it at my office, or if you are a distanced client, please download it from my website.
Q. What do I do now?
A. Just drop an e mail or give me a call. We can then arrange to meet and chat about your special day and the specific needs you both may have. I deem it a privilege to conduct your Wedding Ceremony, and from this meeting you will be able to see the professional manner in which I will attend to every detail. Currently I have advance bookings more than a year forward, so may I suggest the selection of your Celebrant be amongst your first considerations.
Q. Are we restricted with our Wedding location?
A. Not at all! Provided it is within the Commonwealth of Australia. Some of my weddings have been at the Beach, by a Mountain stream, in many of the beautiful parks on the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Some have been at dawn, some at dusk, some at midnight.Some onboard a boat. The choice is yours!
Q. Will you quote a fixed fee and what does it cover?
A. I will provide you with a full statement of every aspect of my services from the beginning to completion of your Ceremony including registration with the Government Authorities. All your questions will be answered fully before you need make any commitment.
